WORKSHOPS
I run Book Arts and Book Binding workshops in Universities, Colleges, Schools, Galleries & Community groups all over the country. I have worked with all age groups and all levels of abilities. Participants are from a variety of backgrounds including: artists, writers, poets, photographers, air hostesses, textile designers, students, trend forcasters, web designers, teachers, illustrators, lecturers, the unemployed and the curious. All are welcome. If you are considering hosting a workshop I can supply all tools, equipment and materials.

Book Arts Courses
For the book arts courses I often team up with artist Lucy May Schofield. Through a variety of exercises you will be encouraged to write and draw and contruct your own artists books. For each project (there's normally 5 in a day) we present books from our collections that illustrate the concept or structure we are asking you to create. We aim to demonstrate how form reflects the content and is integral to each work. You will have the rare opportunity to handle unusal artists book works that we hope will inspire the production of your own. We want you considering text & image, narrative and pacing.You will benefit from one to one attention as we keep class sizes deliberately small. All materials are sourced carefully to ensure beautiful results.
