Pop-Up
I like to experiment with paper engineering, origami and pop up. Books in their nature are interactive experiences, even before you add motion, flaps, tabs, reevals and revoling parts. I am currently exploring shadows cast through paper structures and enjoying the challenge of collapsing intricate sculptures into a flat state.

The pop-up tree pictured above is held at the Manchester Metroplolitan University Special Collections. Dimensions when open are 900mm x 19 mm x 450 mm.

Created for the 'Wish You Were Here' exhibition in Hastings. Part of the 2008 Coastal Currents festival. The book is a 'paper zoom' from a birds eye to a fish eye view. Inkjet printed on 200gsm cartirdge paper.
